Thank you for considering Lisa Sly Photography to capture your treasure - your family. Because my training was grounded in nature photography, I love to shoot outdoors at one of my select spots or a favorite family location. I tend toward the informal and love to capture the essence of a family's personality while they're interacting - casual, comfortable and natural. You will find pricing information and some tips below but don't hesitate to contact me with questions.

Locations:

As a certified nature photographer, my "studio" of choice is outdoors. I have a selection of preferred sites that I know well and have great confidence in. However, I am always open to exploring a new location if there is a site that is meaningful for your family or a "happy place" for your kids! The primary consideration is always that we gather at a location where you and your family are happy and comfortable. Parks and lakes make great locations but don't overlook your backyard! Nature is great but structures (like bridges, steps, fountains, swing sets, etc.) are also useful, especially if Mother Nature hasn't brought forth flowers or fall colors in time for our session. I tend to shoot close up so the focus is on you and your loved ones; the environment is icing on the cake.
Note: If a chosen location requires a permit for professional photography, permit fee will be added to session fee.

Clothing recommendations:

Muted colors are generally better than brights or whites; solids are better than prints. No logos! That said, if there is a "theme" that means something to your family or brights speak to you more, it's your photo and you need to be comfortable. The family does not have to match but the colors should not "fight" each other. And, as much as the kids might like graphic tees, they will not work well in a photograph! I'm happy to talk more about clothing choices if you would like some advice. Families will often send me a picture of the outfits they're planning and I can comment ahead of time.
